During late 2007 whilst preparing for my solo show Echoes & Exorcism calligraphy and lettering started to creep into my paintings. Although this tangent excited me initially, I was very aware of having a unity and continuity to my solo show and decided to keep these works separate.
Having worked commercially as a large - scale calligrapher and having studied graphic design it came as no surprise that lettering started to appear the work. I therefore decided to work on some non – figurative paintings and explore this calligraphic angle further.
Although the figurative work for my next solo exhibition in January 2009 takes precedence, I am also working on some calligraphic abstract works and I will post up more images in the near future.
